Conteúdo:  In november 1977, a U. S. trade official led an economic mission to Tokyo to urge changes in Japanese policies. The purpose was to avert what U. S. officials saw as a threatening crisis in bilateral economic relations. He was chosen, in part, for his modest rank and low-key personal style, because the United States's objective was to press issues strongly but privately. Instead, the mission provoked a media storm in Tokyo-so much of a storm that, when the emissary callled upon Prime Minister Takeo Fukuda, he was greeted with the words, "I am happy to meet the most famous man in Japan.

Conteúdo:  Soybean is the most important source of vegetable oil and protein for human and animal diet in the world. The frequency of occurrence of drought has increased significantly over the last decade, probably associated with climate change occurred due to global warming. Researchers are looking for a long time to improve and optimize the characteristics of the culture. Several strategies can be used to reduce losses caused by drought, ranging from adequate soil management and agriculture, to the use of irrigation. Another possibility is the development of cultivars adapted to drought conditions and in this respect, Biotechnology has become an important tool in the development of varieties adapted to different conditions of biotic and abiotic stress. The genetically modified plants can be transformed by direct gene transfer using particle bombardment (biolistics), which inserts a high number of copies of the transgene into the host genome, resulting many times in deactivation of the transgene by gene silencing. Moreover, the transformed plants via Agrobacterium tumefaciens generally have a low number of copies of the transgene. The use of this method allowed a stable expression and insertion of the interest gene in transgenic plants. The AREB is an important transcription factor signaled by the ABA, which acts in response to regulate the expression of other genes that are involved in tolerance to drought and high salinity stress. This study aimed to analyze the T1 plants transform... Mostrar Tudo
